Journeys toward lives free from harmful sexual behaviour
Children

EVERY BEHAVIOUR IS A COMMUNICATION...

It is important to consider what your child might be attempting to communicate through concerning sexual behaviour.

Our specialist team is equipped to help you to understand and learn ways to move forward safely and free of labels.

The SAFE Early Intervention Service is for primary and intermediate school aged children (approximately 5-12 year old boys or girls) who have engaged in sexual behaviour that is problematic or of concern.

Treatment is aimed at assisting the child, their parents and the social systems around the child (such as extended family & whanau, school, churches, clubs etc) to develop the understanding, knowledge and relevant skills to prevent further concerning behaviour from occurring.

The treatment service is specifically designed to provide effective intervention suitable for this age group.

It is our hope to identify and intervene with the concerning behaviour early on to prevent the development of further more serious behaviour.

Our service engages not only your child, but your family and whanau, other agencies and your childs school to support you in working to find a safer way forward for you and your child.

At SAFE we need to discuss sensitive issues and we value your privacy. All clinicians and staff at SAFE are bound by our confidentiality policy
